In 2010-2011 PFL is providing 753 students with an academically rigorous program of study, an accelerated curriculum, trained dedicated teachers, individual attention and a college residential experience that will ensure these students go to college. Any amount you give will be used wisely: fully 87 cents of each dollar is spent directly on the students.

PFL Grads

Dear Dr. Allen:

I am writing to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate in Project Forward Leap. I am an alumni of the very first class of PFL. I believe your program was the spark that I needed to help me realize that I too could accomplish a college degree despite my economic or ethnic background. My parent's gave up their own college dreams in search of the "American dream" for their children. They always stressed the importance of an education to my siblings and myself.

Being able to attend the summer program at Millersville University was a wonderful experience that always prepared me for the following grade in the fall. I felt like I was a step ahead in my studies and continued to use this practice throughout my college years by preparing for my math and science classes ahead of time. Having my first computer programming class with your son really inspired me to learn more about computers so much so that I even considered becomming a programmer at one point. Although I am not a computer programmer I definitely can say that I am quite proficient with computers.

Your program served as the stepping stone for me to accomplish my career goal of obtaining a doctorate of physical therapy. Not only that I was able to set a good example to my younger siblings who are also college educated. Being able to visit different colleges was not something my parents, who had to work, would have been able to do with me. Being able to visit various colleges allowed me to exlpore the many options for majors available to me. This was a huge advantage especially for the disadvantaged.

With my new found career I hope to be able to take care of my parents first as well as give back to my community. Unfortunately the field of Physical Therapy has very little minority involvement and so I hope to speak with the youth of my community to encourage them to join this wonderful career.

I appreciate everything your program does and hope to help contribute in the future in any way I can so that you may continue to inspire young children to aim high.
